TOSC will bill your insurance carrier only for surgical services rendered at the facility. Other services you may need in addition will be billed by the person or agency that performs the service i.e.: lab tests, anesthesia, pathology, x-rays.
Verification of your insurance coverage prior to surgery is important. We will only be able to give you accurate information about the amount you will be required to pay at the time of surgery if given accurate information by you. If your coverage is less than 100%, it will be necessary to collect the remainder of the charge, and possibly your co-payment and deductible. Please provide accurate, current insurance identification cards when you arrive for surgery or when you speak with the Business Office.
Keep in mind this amount is only an estimate of fee and may change if any additional procedures are added or special equipment used such as a laser is used. You will be billed for any balance accordingly. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and CareCredit to assist you in paying for these services.
It is your responsibility to satisfy the conditions of your insurance plan and to verify that your plan insurer covers service at our facility, therefore we strongly recommend that you contact your insurance carrier to confirm benefits and any requirements prior to surgery (such as preauthorization).

TOSC cannot be responsible for claims denied for failure to meet specific requirements on your behalf. Patients undergoing cosmetic procedures, or patients that are undergoing "non-covered procedures" (as determined by your insurance carrier) must pre-pay in full. CareCredit may be a benefit to you and can be explained by the Business Office Manager at TOSC. Cash, major credit cards, and checks are accepted.
In the event that any of the above options cannot be met, the surgical center will make every attempt to assist with other financial arrangements prior to surgery. Patients who experience financial hardship, according to current Federal Poverty Guidelines, may apply for charity adjustments. Applications must be made prior to surgery. Patients may request information about this policy by calling and asking to speak with a billing department representative.
It is your right as a patient to request information or have questions answered regarding fees or payment policies. If you have any questions or problems regarding your bill, please contact our billing department at (864)725-7500, and our staff will be happy to assist you.
